Business Women's Forum (BWF) to Feature Six Professional Development Workshops

This year's Business Women's Forum (BWF), Connecticut's longest running dynamic leadership conference, will feature Judy Smith, crisis management expert, author, and inspiration for the hit TV show, "Scandal", and Christine Cashen, author of "The Good Stuff: Quips & Tips on Life, Love, Work, and Happiness", at its 34th annual event to be held on Friday in the Aqua Turf Club, Plantsville.

In addition to the keynote speakers, six diverse and empowering workshops will be presented. The more than 500 attendees will have the opportunity to attend two of the six educational workshops to bring new knowledge and expertise back to their workplace and to meet and greet with the speakers. Workshops will be presented on the following topics: The Power of Buying Local; Real Relationships and the LinkedIn Connection; Legal Issues in the Workplace; Managing Today's Intergenerational Workforce; Avoid Burnout: Get More Done While Taking Less of a Toll; and Permission to Use Your Voice – Building Internal Leadership for Grit and Resilience in the Workplace.

"The Power of Buying Local" presented by Barbara Wold will provide tools and ideas for developing and planning for long-term partnerships with like-minded businesses, and provide insights into creating positive shopper experiences for building trust. This workshop will be sponsored by Ion Bank and Saint Mary's Health System.

Sandra Long, owner of Post Road Consulting, LLC and advisor to attorneys, consultants, sales teams, corporate executives and job seekers, will discuss "Real Relationships and the LinkedIn Connection" and share her approach and philosophy on connecting via social media. Giovanna Weller, a partner at Carmody Torrance Sandak & Hennessey's Litigation Group, co-chair of the firm's Labor and Employment Subgroup, and leader of the firm's employment litigation practice is thrilled to come back as a workshop speaker. Kelly Biskupiak, founder and owner of Be You Bravely, will present on "Permission to Use Your Voice – Building Internal Leadership for Grit and Resilience in the Workplace."
